Therapy dogs help girls learn lessons of trust
"Each of the troubled girls saw a little of her own sad past in Brando, rescued two years ago from a puppy mill. The dark standard poodle had been kept with 30 other dogs. His hair was tangled and matted, he had infections in his eyes and ears, and he was malnourished. 'When he got food, he would eat it as fast as he could because he didn't know he would get fed again - just like me,' one girl commented."
